The Pastor
I was born in 1969 and married my high school sweetheart in 1987 after graduating from high school. We have two sons who are 21 and 19 years old. We live only five minutes from the church in Pikeville. I was in a boating accident in 1999 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was in rehab for about one year through Pitt Memorial. I began to attend church on a regular basis late in 2000 at Adamsville Baptist. On February 6, 2001, I realized I was hopelessly headed to hell and needed a Savior. The pastor, Pat Kilby, led me in the sinner's prayer in my living room. I soon found a place to serve in the church (the kitchen) and then was called by God to preach. I did as many and thought, "Not me. I can't. I don't know how. I am not qualified." Then God made it clear that He can, He will, He is qualified, and He would provide. I began to preach in various churches locally at first. Soon I was in South Carolina and Tennessee. Now I have been all over the world to places such as Honduras and Saint Lucia. I was voted in as pastor of First Baptist Church of Pikeville while on a mission trip to Honduras in July 2007.
